How is your roads Carbon Negative?
We recycle the road on the spot and use a zero carbon binder which binds carbon in the road, instead of heavy oil. This makes our method reduce carbon emissions of ~3.5 ton per 100 feet of road relative to traditional methods, and remove ~1.5 tons of carbon from the atmosphere.
How can you reuse masses instead of replacing them?
We recycle the road on the spot using our proprietary Crusher, creating more homogenous soil than regular mixing mills. This removes the need for adding new materials in the road, removing unnecessary extraction of materials from our nature - saving natural habitats.
How does the economy of your method compare to traditional road rehabilitation?
Our method is cheaper than traditional methods for stabilizing roads. This helps road owners, and the public, save money, and allows them to refurbish more roads in need of repair.
How much road can you refurbish a day with the Carbon Crusher method?
On a standard working day of 8 hours we crush approx. 20,000sf/day. Mixing can be done at approx. 50.000 sf/day. This means we can refurbish approx. 70 - 90.000 sf per week (100 complete and ready for traffic)
How is the strength of your roads compared to traditional roads?
Our roads are equally or more durable. The method has been tested for more than 16 years on rugged Norwegian roads, enduring snow, rain, frost, thaw and large temperature variation from 85 F (~30 C) to -20 F (~-30 C), and working perfectly also on gravel roads. Now we have even demonstrated how our method works in 107 F (~42 C) in Phoenix Arizona
